Die bei uns als invasive Art bekannte asiatische Hornisse hat den Namen ''Vespa Velutina Nigrithorax'' (kurz Vvn) und weißt im Gegensatz zu der bei uns heimischen Hornisse ''Vespa Crabro'' (kurz Vc) einige Unterscheidungsmerkmale auf.<br />
